About Virtus
A CPA-led practice for the part that matters.
We are a boutique retirement practice for people within five years of retirement, or already retired. Small on purpose, so the plan stays personal and the team who built it is the team you call.

Our story
Virtus began with one man, a briefcase, and a list of doors.
Bernie Wrezinski came home from Vietnam and went to work the way his generation did, in person and one conversation at a time, selling Medicare supplements to families who did not know him yet. Over the years he built that into an organization with a real identity, one devoted to helping retirees protect the wealth they had earned over a lifetime.
His son Tyler eventually joined the business, and soon after so did Andrew Hall, Tyler’s closest friend since childhood. Together they built its next era. As Bernie stepped back into an advisory role, Tyler and Andrew took on the day-to-day work of running and growing the firm.
By many measures it was working. But working and right are not the same thing. The turning point came when Tyler and Andrew stopped trying to be everything to everyone. They made the harder choice to narrow, letting go of the parts of the business that did not serve the families they were built to help and committing fully to the ones that did. That is where Virtus, in its current form, was born.
Somewhere in that process they learned the thing that now shapes every plan they build. The families thriving in retirement were not the ones with the tidiest spreadsheet. They were the ones free to spend real time, and real money, making memories with the people they loved, without lying awake wondering if it would last.
The technical work still matters: tax planning, estate planning, long-term care, taking unnecessary risk off the table, and putting money to work where it can grow. But the number on the page was never the destination. It is what makes the destination, a life worth living, possible.
From a Vietnam veteran knocking on doors to the firm that stands today, it is the same family and the same commitment to doing right by retirees, with a clearer understanding than ever of what that means.
Virtus means courage: the specific kind that does the right things the right way even when the easier path is right there.
Your wealth should be measured by the quality of your life, not the size of your account.
